The New Dentist Committee of the North Texas Dental Society strives to include all new dentists, individuals out of school/residency in the past 10 years, whose primary practice is in the Fourth District. A new dentist's transition into private practice can be an intimidating process. In contrast to the experienced dentist, new practitioners have an assembly of unique concerns with respect to their associateships, partnerships, practice transitions and/or practice start-up. We all strive to maintain productive practices while providing the best oral health care, utilizing the most modern techniques and materials, and maintaining patient, professional and intra-office relationships.
The goal of the New Dentist Committee is to provide a support network for new dentists in the Fourth District. The New Dentist Committee aims to provide continuing education and practice development courses of interest to new dentists. In addition, the Committee sponsors social events throughout the year to maintain contact and relationships within our professional community. Finally, the Committee promotes active membership in organized dentistry. In so doing, we hope to expose new practitioners to current legislative and Texas State Board issues. The new dentist's involvement at every level, including the basic monetary annual dues, supports organized dentistry at the local, state and national levels to maintain and protect the integrity of the dental profession.
